Georjeans Pet Grooming in Warrenton, Virginia has a new owner effective July 11, 2011.

Georjeans Pet Grooming has been providing quality dog grooming and bathing services in Warrenton, Virginia, since 1999. It is the only locally-owned shop in Warrenton with a self-service dog wash as well as experienced professional dog groomers and support staff.

Georjeans Pet Grooming was originally founded and managed by Georgia Sabean and Jean Gillen, who had previously owned and operated Jeannie’s Pet Boutique in Vienna and Falls Church, Virginia. In mid-2011, they retired and sold their Warrenton Georjeans Grooming shop to Aspirations Pet Services, LLC, owned by Leslie Shriner, a long-time friend and professional colleague.

Georgia and Jean brought to the shop a lifelong love of dogs and more than 35 years experience in the pet grooming business.

Leslie Shriner has over 15 years professional experience in dog care, grooming, handling, and training. A graduate of Gettysburg College with a degree in Biology, she served for a number of years as a vet tech and groomer with several Maryland veterinary clinics and eight years as a dog training instructor at Dog Sense Unlimited in Rockville.

After graduating from the renowned Maryland School of Dog Grooming in 1997, Leslie founded Aspirations Pet Services in Silver Spring, Maryland, offering grooming, handling, and training services and specializing in the grooming and care of companion show dogs, geriatric dogs, and other special needs dogs. She is a breeder of Standard Schnauzers with numerous Best of Breed and Group placements and has served as board member and secretary of the Potomac Valley Standard Schnauzer Club. She has trained, groomed, and handled various breeds of dogs at hundreds of AKC shows, including the world-renowned Westminster Dog Show. She now brings that experience and expertise to dog owners in the Warrenton area while continuing the tradition of service established by Georgia and Jean.

Georjeans Pet Grooming is a member of the Fauquier Chamber of Commerce, and supports numerous local charities. Georgia Sabean and Jean Gillen continue to maintain close ties with the shop, frequently stopping by to visit and occasionally helping with grooming when needed.

Jean is retired from the U.S. Army and is an active member of the American Legion in Warrenton. In 2009, she was named “Legionnaire of the Year” for Post 72 and also recently named “Small Business Veteran of the Year” for Fauquier County.

Georgia is internationally known as a breeder of champion Standard Schnauzers and has served as officer and board member of the Standard Schnauzer Club of America, the Potomac Valley Standard Schnauzer Club, the Warrenton Kennel Club, and other organizations.
